Peer Review Process
Pengabdian Inovasi Sains (PISA) publishes articles in accordance with established author guidelines and manuscript templates to ensure consistency and quality. All submitted manuscripts first undergo an initial screening (pre-review) by the editorial team. This stage evaluates the suitability of the manuscript with the journal’s focus and scope, as well as its compliance with formatting and writing standards.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then subjected to a single-blind peer review process, in which the reviewer knows the identity of the author, but the author does not know the identity of the reviewer. Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject matter of the submission.
Reviewers are tasked with evaluating the manuscript based on several key criteria, including originality, scientific or practical contribution, methodological soundness, and clarity of presentation. They provide detailed comments and recommendations to support the improvement of the manuscript. The review process typically takes 2–4 weeks.
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations and suggestions, the Editor-in-Chief (or assigned editor) makes the final decision regarding the manuscript. PISA adopts four possible decisions:
- Accepted
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Rejected
Authors are expected to revise their manuscripts in accordance with reviewer feedback before final acceptance. This rigorous review process ensures that all published articles meet high standards of academic quality and relevance.
